What the ICL7106 family does
The ICL7106, ICL7107, and ICL7107S are 31/2 digit A/D converters featuring seven segment decoders and display drivers. The ICL7106 interfaces with LCD displays, while the ICL7107 directly drives LED displays. These parts offer single supply operation, 1pA typical input current, and less than 15µVP-P noise. They support 0°C to +70°C temperature ranges and include on-chip clocks and references. Designers typically use them to build panel meters for measuring load cells, strain gauges, and other bridge type transducers with high accuracy and true economy.
