00 — Overview

What the GM3485E does

The GM3485E is a fail-safe, hot-swap RS-485/RS-422 transceiver designed for half-duplex communication. It operates on a 3.0V to 5.5V supply and supports up to 10Mbps data rates. The device features ±15kV ESD protection for its I/O pins and includes a low-current shutdown mode. It typically draws 500 microamperes of supply current when unloaded or when the driver is disabled. This component allows up to 32 transceivers on a single bus and is intended for applications such as RS-485 communications, level translators, motor controllers, and industrial control local area networks.
