What the GM3232E family does

The GM3232E is a multi-channel RS-232 line driver and receiver featuring a dual charge-pump circuit. It operates with a 3V to 5.5V supply, supports data rates up to 500 kbps, and provides ±15kV ESD protection on serial pins. The device includes two drivers and two receivers, requiring only four small external capacitors. It meets TIA/EIA-232-F and ITU V.28 standards, serving as the electrical interface between asynchronous controllers and serial connectors.
