What the ADM2483 does
The ADM2483 is a half-duplex, iCoupler isolated RS-485 transceiver designed for bidirectional data communication on balanced, multipoint bus transmission lines. It combines a three-channel isolator, a three-state differential line driver, and a differential input receiver into a single package. The device supports data rates up to 500 kbps with a maximum supply current of 2.5 mA. It features high common-mode transient immunity exceeding 25 kV/μs and supports up to 256 nodes on the bus. The ADM2483 is suitable for low power RS-485/RS-422 networks, isolated interfaces, and building control systems. It operates over an industrial temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and includes thermal shutdown protection.
