00 — Overview

What the SP490E family does

The SP490E and SP491E are low power differential line drivers and receivers for RS-485 and RS-422 standards up to 10 Mbps. These BiCMOS devices operate on a single +5V supply and feature 200mV receiver input sensitivity. The SP490E lacks enable lines, while the SP491E adds driver and receiver tri-state enable functionality. Both parts support 15kV human body model ESD protection. They are available in 8-pin or 14-pin plastic DIP and NSOIC packages for commercial and industrial temperature ranges. Typical applications include industrial serial communication interfaces requiring robust noise immunity and full-duplex data transmission.
