What the SP3490 family does

The SP3490 and SP3491 are +3.3V low power full-duplex transceivers supporting RS-485 and RS-422 protocols up to 10 Mbps. These devices operate from a single 3.3V supply with a common-mode input voltage range of -7V to +12V. The SP3491 variant adds driver and receiver tri-state enable lines. They support up to 32 transceivers on the serial bus and maintain compatibility with industry standards like the SN75179 and SN75180. The SP3490 and SP3491 utilize Exar's BiCMOS process to deliver low power consumption without sacrificing performance in commercial, industrial, and military temperature grades.
