00 — Overview

What the ADS1118 does

The ADS1118 is a precision, low-power, 16-bit analog-to-digital converter available in X2QFN-10 and VSSOP-10 packages. It operates on a wide supply range of 2 V to 5.5 V while consuming only 150 μA in continuous mode. The device supports data rates up to 860 SPS with a single-cycle settling time and includes an internal low-drift voltage reference and a high-accuracy temperature sensor with 0.5°C maximum error. An internal programmable gain amplifier and input multiplexer allow measurement of two differential or four single-ended signals. Engineers typically use this component for temperature measurement, thermocouple cold-junction compensation, and portable instrumentation applications.
