00 — Overview

What the ADS1120 family does

The ADS1120 is a precision, 16-bit analog-to-digital converter featuring a programmable gain amplifier, internal reference, and dual-matched current sources. It supports data rates up to 2kSPS with 16-bit noise-free resolution at 20SPS, a wide supply range of 2.3V to 5.5V, and low current consumption as low as 120μA in duty-cycle mode. The device offers simultaneous 50Hz and 60Hz rejection and is designed for measuring small sensor signals like RTDs, thermocouples, and thermistors. It is typically used in field transmitters, patient monitoring systems, and factory automation applications. Available in VQFN-16 and TSSOP-16 packages, it operates over a temperature range of –40°C to +125°C.
