00 — Overview

What the ADS1220 family does

The ADS1220 is a precision, 24-bit analog-to-digital converter featuring a programmable gain amplifier, internal reference, and dual-matched current sources. It supports data rates up to 2kSPS with up to 20 bits of effective resolution and a wide supply range of 2.3V to 5.5V. The device offers simultaneous 50Hz and 60Hz rejection at 20SPS and consumes as little as 120μA in duty-cycle mode. Designed for measuring small sensor signals, it is typically used in field transmitters, patient monitoring systems, and factory automation to capture temperature, pressure, strain, and flow data from RTDs, thermocouples, and resistive bridge sensors.
