What the YD3082E family does

The YD3082E is a fail-safe RS-485/RS-422 transceiver featuring a driver and receiver in a single SOP8 package. It operates on a 3.0V to 5.5V supply, supports data rates up to 1Mbps, and offers ±15kV Human Body Model ESD protection. The device draws 140μA in normal operation and 0.1μA in shutdown mode. Its fail-safe circuitry guarantees a logic-high receiver output when bus inputs are open or shorted. Engineers typically use this component for RS-485 communications, level translation, motor control, and industrial control local area networks.
