00 — Overview

What the PCA82C250 family does

The PCA82C250 serves as the interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical bus, providing differential transmit and receive capabilities. It supports high-speed automotive applications up to 1 MBd with a supply voltage of 4.5 to 5.5 V. The device features a maximum propagation delay of 50 ns and operates across an ambient temperature range of -40 to +125 °C. It includes built-in protection against electrical transients and short circuits to battery or ground. The component also offers a low-current standby mode and ensures at least 110 nodes can connect without disturbing the bus lines. Fully compatible with the ISO11898 standard, it is designed for robust performance in demanding automotive environments.
