What the MCP4725 does

The MCP4725 is a 12-bit buffered voltage output Digital-to-Analog Converter featuring on-board nonvolatile EEPROM memory. It operates on a single supply of 2.7V to 5.5V, drawing 210 µA typical supply current and settling in 6 µs. The device offers 12-bit resolution with ±0.2 LSB typical differential nonlinearity and supports standard, fast, and high-speed I2C interfaces up to 3.4 Mbps. It includes an external A0 address pin for configuration selection and an on-board precision output amplifier enabling rail-to-rail analog output swing. The MCP4725 is ideal for sensor calibration, closed-loop servo control, and portable instrumentation where settings must persist during power-off. Available in 6-lead SOT-23 and DFN packages, it covers commercial and extended temperature ranges from -40°C to +125°C.
