What the BL3085 does

The BL3085 is a half-duplex RS-485 transceiver featuring a driver and receiver with built-in fail-safe protection. It operates on +3.3V or +5V supplies, supporting data rates up to 500kbps at 5V or 250kbps at 3.3V. The device allows up to 256 transceivers on the bus and includes ±15kV ESD protection on I/O pins. Available in an SOP8 package, it is designed for smart meters, data acquisition terminals, industrial control systems, and security monitoring applications. The chip utilizes a slew-rate controlled driver to minimize EMI and signal reflections.
