00 — Overview

What the MCP3002 does

The MCP3002 is a 10-bit successive approximation analog-to-digital converter featuring an on-board sample and hold circuit. It supports single-ended or pseudo-differential inputs and operates on a 2.7V to 5.5V single supply. The device achieves a maximum sampling rate of 200ksps at 5V with 10-bit resolution, ±1LSB maximum differential nonlinearity, and ±1LSB maximum integral nonlinearity. Low power CMOS technology enables a typical standby current of 5nA and active current of 375µA. Available in 8-pin MSOP, PDIP, SOIC, and TSSOP packages, the MCP3002 serves sensor interfaces, process control, data acquisition, and battery-operated systems across industrial temperature ranges.
