What the LM50 does

The LM50 and LM50-Q1 are precision single-supply temperature sensors in the SOT-23 package, covering commercial, industrial, and automotive temperature grades. These devices operate from 4.5V to 10V with a linear scale factor of +10.0 mV/°C and a DC offset of +500 mV. They maintain ±2°C accuracy at +25°C and ±4°C over the full −40°C to +125°C range. With quiescent current under 130 μA and self-heating less than 0.2°C, they are ideal for battery management, portable medical instruments, automotive systems, and HVAC applications where reading negative temperatures without a negative supply is required.
