What the LAN8720A family does

The LAN8720A/LAN8720AI is a single-chip 10/100 Ethernet physical layer transceiver featuring reduced pin count RMII interface and high-performance Auto-MDIX support. It operates on a single 3.3V supply with a gain bandwidth of 1.3 MHz and supports LVCMOS I/O voltages from 1.6V to 3.6V. The device includes an integrated 1.2V regulator, loop-back modes, and wake-up detection for link status changes. Available in commercial and industrial temperature grades, it targets applications like set-top boxes, networked printers, routers, and embedded telecom systems. The part comes in a miniature 24-pin lead-free QFN or SQFN package measuring 4x4mm.
