What the L7805C family does

The L78 series are three-terminal positive voltage regulators available in TO-220, TO-220FP, DPAK, and D²PAK packages. These devices cover fixed output voltages of 5, 6, 8, 8.5, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 V. They support output currents up to 1.5 A and feature a 2% output voltage tolerance for A versions.
